Waterheaterhistory.com (the “Site”) is operated by Baysinger, LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Site or contact us, how we use it, and what choices you have.
This policy covers the website and messages you send us. It does not replace a signed contract with a partner, supporter, or client.

What we collect
Information you send us
The Site does not require an account, membership, or purchase.
If you use the contact form, email us, or send feedback, we receive what you type: usually your name, email address, subject, and message. If you apply as a contributor, partner, or supporter, we also receive whatever you include in that request.
Information collected automatically
When you visit, our host and analytics tools may log:
-
IP address
-
Browser, device, and general location derived from IP
-
Pages viewed, time on page, and referring site
-
Dates and times of visits
That data is used to run and improve the Site, not to sell you a water heater.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar tools for basic function, security, and traffic measurement. That may include analytics from our hosting platform (currently Wix) and, if enabled, Google Analytics.
Cookies help us see which pages are used and whether the Site is working. They are not used to run ad retargeting for our own product sales.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser. Some parts of the Site may not work as well if you do.
Google’s data practices: Google’s “Safeguarding your data”. Google also offers browser opt-out tools.
How we use information
We use what we collect to:
-
Operate, secure, and fix the Site
-
See which history and technical pages people actually read
-
Answer messages you send
-
Keep records we need for partners, supporters, or legal duties
We do not sell your contact information. We do not rent it to other marketers. We do not use visitor emails to pitch water heaters, filters, or plumbing jobs.
Who we share it with
People who run the Site. Messages and logs may be seen by Sid Baysinger and others who operate or contribute to waterheaterhistory.com under Baysinger, LLC. They are expected to handle that information under this policy.
Service providers. Hosting, form handling, email, security, and analytics companies process data so the Site can function. Wix (or a successor host) is one of those providers. They may store data on servers in the United States or elsewhere. They are allowed to use the data only to provide their service.
The law. We may disclose information if we are required to by law, court order, or a valid legal process, or if we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect the Site, our rights, or someone’s safety.
We do not sell personal information as that term is used in California law.
How long we keep it
Contact messages are kept as long as needed to answer you and to keep a normal business record. Server and analytics logs are kept for the period the host or analytics tool retains them, then deleted or aggregated. We may keep information longer if we must for a legal dispute or a legal duty.
Your choices
Email us at info@waterheaterhistory.com if you want to:
-
See what contact information we have from you
-
Correct it
-
Ask us to delete it
We will handle requests as the law requires. We may keep what we still need for legal obligations, security, or dispute records.
If you are in California, you may also ask whether we have collected, shared, or sold personal information about you, and you may ask us not to sell it. We do not sell it. We will not treat you worse for making a request the law allows.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may have additional rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, and objection. The legal basis we rely on for site logs and analytics is operation of a legitimate informational site; for messages you send us, it is taking the steps you asked for.
Children
The Site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
Links
The Site links to museums, manufacturers, archives, partners, and other references. Their privacy practices are their own. Read their policies before you send them information.
Security
We take ordinary precautions against loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access. No website is perfectly secure. Do not send passwords, payment-card numbers, or other high-risk data through the contact form.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change. For a material change, we will post a notice on the Site with the new policy. Continued use after that post means you accept the updated policy.
