Purpose of this website

 

Waterheaterhistory.com is an independent educational resource on the history of hot-water technology, heating systems, and related bathing and engineering practices — from antiquity to the systems in use now.

The Site is for information and research. It is not a manufacturer catalog, a contractor sales page, or an installation manual.

The Site is operated by Baysinger, LLC. It is not owned by Ruud, Rheem, Bradford White, Navien, Rinnai, Noritz, American Standard, or any other water-heater maker. Brand names appear because they are part of the history, or because a company has a listing on the Site.

Related companies in the Baysinger / Fehn family line (including plumbing and water-heater shops, and Baysinger, LLC’s marketing and restoration work) are described on the About page. That family history is not a secret, and it is not a substitute for sources.
