The photographs and plates collected here run from ancient heated baths to the first domestic geysers, automatic storage heaters, solar collectors, glass-lined tanks, tankless units, and heat-pump systems. Some images come from patents, catalogs, and museum collections. Others come from Heritage Partners and from units documented in the field.

Each picture is treated as evidence, not decoration. Where the maker, date, or source is known, it is given. Where it is not yet known, the image is still kept, so the object itself can be studied while the identification is completed.
