$100 · Credited Work

Waterheaterhistory.com is a free, independent educational resource. People come here for a sourced account of water heating — the history, and the technology still in use. The site is not a store and not a ranking list. It is a living reference built from patents, catalogs, engineering literature, museum collections, and machines documented in the field.

A Contributor helps keep those pages public with a gift of $100. The listing is a named place on this page. If you send a photograph, catalog page, nameplate, or sourced correction and it is used, you are credited on the published piece as well.

That listing is a credit in the record, not an advertisement and not an endorsement of any product or service.

This page is only for Contributors. The $100 package below is what this program provides.

Who can be listed

  • A person who wants to help keep this history site free

  • A tradesperson, collector, or researcher who can share one real source

  • A small organization that can do the same

A company's sales page is not enough. The $100 gift starts the listing. One real source — a photo, catalog page, nameplate, or sourced correction — is what makes it a Contributor listing.

What you get for $100

  • Name, optional city, and year on this page

  • A short credit (up to 60 words), written from your form

  • Logo and name on this page, linked to your site

  • One file was reviewed for possible use

  • If that file is used, your name in the source line and credit on the published article or photo

  • Your listing on this page links to that published piece

  • An email receipt

  • Listing live in 7 days, for 12 months

  • Renewable at $100

You may check the spelling of your name and city. You do not write the credit.

What you do not get

  • A banner across the site

  • A ranking or “best of” label

  • A review of any product or service

  • Control of any article

The short credit

Three small parts. No slogans. No prices. No phone numbers. No “call today.”

  1. Who you are
Your name. City, if you want it. One line about your trade or collection, if you have one.

  2. What you sent
Name the file. Give the year if you know it.

  3. Where we used it

Name the page that uses the file, if we used one. End with a source line.

What to send

  • Name to publish

  • Email

  • City (optional)

  • Logo, if you have one (PNG or SVG)

  • One file, if you have it

  • A short note for the credit (optional)

How the listing looks

Name first. City and year next. Short credit under that. Logo only if you sent one. Keep it small. We email your receipt the same day the name goes up.
